Fall 2017, University of San Francisco
Instructor • Matthew Peek
This urban design project focuses on implementing places of activity and green spaces in San Francisco’s historic Nob Hill neighborhood. These places are arranged in a straight line that ends with the existing Huntington Park, a popular meeting spot, to create more movement along the streets. Since there are no cafes in the area, the Coffee Alley invites people to visit. The Art Corridor fills the interstitial space between the church and school, and it is a place for the two to showcase their work. The Plaza renovates the existing Cathedral courtyard to make it more modern, and it is accessed through a series of ramps that line with the park.
